Helping Hands

Volunteering & Skill Exchange

Exchange wisdom, grow together.

The idea

Helping Hands connects neighbors and organizations: people ask for a hand, volunteers offer skills, and both sides agree on fair exchanges — no money required.

Why it exists

People who want to help rarely find the right opportunity at the right time, and organizations struggle to reach vetted volunteers. Meanwhile, everyday neighborly help has no trusted home.

What we've built

A two-sided platform where NGOs publish opportunities and neighbors post requests or offers — with profiles, direct chat, reviews and badges that build trust without money changing hands.

How it works

Create a profile as a volunteer, neighbor or organization. Discover opportunities by cause, location and availability, apply in one click, chat directly, complete the exchange, and collect reviews and badges that build a trusted reputation.

Main features

  • Volunteering opportunities by cause, location and availability
  • Neighbor-to-neighbor help requests and fair skill exchanges
  • Organization profiles with verification badge
  • One-click applications and in-platform chat
  • Reviews, badges and trusted reputation system
  • Categories: community, education, animals, environment, healthcare, elderly, children, food

Who it's for

Volunteers, NGOs and nonprofits, and neighbors who want to give or receive help in their community.

Potential impact

Illustrative platform metrics: 48,120 volunteers, 2,340 organizations, 17,900 opportunities filled across 42 countries.
